Windows Releases Vista SP1 RC

by Jay Fleischman on December 14, 2007

Microsoft has released Windows Vista Service Pack 1 Release Candidate to the public. Windows Vista users can download the package and preview the software now, but remember that’s just a release candidate and not the final service pack.

The release candidate won’t work after June 30, 2008, and you’ll need to uninstall it in order to install the final version of Windows Vista SP1 when it is released in first quarter of 2008.

But if you’re one of the poor souls who got hoodwinked into installing Vista and now wish you could toss your computer off the side of a very tall building, it may help.

Download Windows Vista SP1 RC at MSDN or TechNet.
